Amari Atelier

Phnom Penh, Cambodia | 2022 | Interior design | Completed

A 150-square-metre boutique bridal store located in Toul Kork, Phnom Penh. The store was imagined as a series of scenes, where the interplay of elements heightens the focus on the dresses and bride. The shop features walls awash in a muted pink stucco, a light grain terrazzo floor and brass accenting to the fixtures and fittings.

  • Amari Atelier is a boutique bridal store located in Toul Kork, Phnom Penh. The client approached our team wanting to create a unique space that would set the store apart from its competitors.

In creating Amari Atelier, the store was imagined as a series of scenes, where the interplay of elements heightens the focus on the dresses and bride. We liked the idea of the store serving as a backdrop—a space where the dresses and brides themselves take centre stage.

Spanning 150 square metres, the store features; a foyer space, a small workshop for alterations, a staging area for the brides to try on their dress, and displays showcasing ready-to-wear selections. The space integrates fluid, curved walls that echo the contours of the dresses – minimising partitions whilst still ensuring privacy.

The store centres around the staging area where a recessed oculus in the ceiling frames the moment of brides trying on their dresses, adding a touch of theatre to the experience.

Walls and ceilings are finished in a fine stucco, with muted pinkish hues. The floor features a light-grained terrazzo, with brass inlays mirroring the curved geometries found in the walls. The fixtures are embellished with brass accents, adding a sense of elegance and refinement to the space.
