Toul Kork Rooftop Bar

Toul Kork | 2023 | Architecture | In-progress

A 300 sqm bar that draws inspiration from the traditional beer gardens found throughout the city, reimagining them in an elevated setting.

  • A Space for Locals, After-Workers, and Explorers

Located 15 floors above the city, this hidden gem combines the relaxed vibe of a beer garden with breathtaking views across Phnom Penh. Offering affordable drinks, small plates, and a landscaped garden, this space provides an inviting setting for locals and visitors alike.

The bar is designed to serve the dynamic and rapidly evolving Toul Kork area, an affluent residential district in Phnom Penh. With increasing development attracting a mix of residents and professionals, Toul Kork is becoming a key part of the city’s future. The space was designed with flexibility in mind, ensuring it can adapt to a variety of needs — from after-work hangouts and private parties to corporate events.

The layout of the bar is divided into four distinct areas — the Bar, the Promenade, the Garden, and the Terrace — each offering different atmospheres and levels of intimacy. Whether you're looking for a quiet corner to unwind or a lively space to host an event, the design offers versatility to accommodate diverse experiences.

The bar’s design combines low-tech industrial materials with lush greenery to create a welcoming, vibrant atmosphere. Corrugated metal sheets, re-purposed structural elements, and abundant plants create a striking contrast between the raw, industrial interior and the natural elements that blur the line between indoors and outdoors.
